Taphrase is a local-first snippet keyboard. Its core features require no account, and your saved content is not uploaded to developer servers.
Data we do not collect
Taphrase does not use advertising or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs, build user profiles, or sell user data. The developer does not collect or upload:
- text you type in other apps;
- your boards, snippets, searches, or template variables;
- images or files you add; or
- favorites and recent-use history.
Local storage and Full Access
Boards, snippets, attachments, recent-use history, and a cached purchase entitlement are stored on your device. The main app and Taphrase Keyboard exchange this data through an on-device iOS App Group container.
Without Allow Full Access, the keyboard can still use its built-in basic phrases. When you enable Full Access, it can read boards saved in the main app and copy an image or file when you choose one. The keyboard extension does not make network requests or read, record, or upload what you type in other apps.
Purchases
Apple processes Taphrase Lifetime purchases through the App Store and StoreKit. The developer does not receive your full payment-card information. Apple verifies purchase status, and the app stores an entitlement cache on your device.
Clipboard, images, and files
When you select an image or file in Taphrase Keyboard, the app copies it to the system clipboard at your request. iOS and the app where you paste control what happens to that clipboard content afterward.
Retention and deletion
Your data remains on the device until you choose Delete All Data in Taphrase Settings or uninstall the app. Delete All Data removes local boards, snippets, attachments, and usage history.
Network access
The keyboard extension makes no network requests. The main app uses the network for Apple purchase and restore services, or when you choose to open the privacy or support pages.
Children's privacy
Taphrase is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Policy changes
If features or data handling change, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you of material changes.
