Set up Taphrase Keyboard

  1. Open iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard.
  2. Select Taphrase Keyboard.
  3. In any text field, use the Globe key to switch to Taphrase Keyboard.
  4. Built-in phrases work without Full Access. Turn on Allow Full Access to use boards saved in the main app.

Why does it ask for Full Access?

iOS requires Full Access before a third-party keyboard can read the App Group container shared with its main app. Taphrase uses it to access your saved boards, images, files, and purchase entitlement. The keyboard extension does not make network requests or record text you type in other apps.

Check the connection

After enabling Full Access, open Taphrase Keyboard in a text field once. Then return to the Keyboard page in the main app. It shows when the keyboard last read local boards successfully. This status stays on your device.

An image or file did not insert directly

Apps differ in how they accept attachments from third-party keyboards. Taphrase first copies the selected image or file to the system clipboard. Paste it into the destination app.

Restore a purchase

In Taphrase → Settings, select Restore Purchase. Make sure you are signed in with the Apple Account used to buy Taphrase Lifetime and can connect to the App Store.

Delete your data

Open Taphrase → Settings → Delete All Data. This permanently removes local boards, snippets, attachments, and usage history.
